Taif Aoud

Beauty and the beast in a fragrance. The opening is a medley of citrus and rose petals, with the unmistakably gentle texture of the taif rose. Aldehydes provide a champagne-like sparkle, and the entire composition in the first 1 hour smells like holding a bouquet of roses while standing in a citrus garden. At this stage, it is clean, stunning, and a touch feminine. But then the fragrance begins a shift, as if a whirlpool changed direction - the resins and other base notes start to emerge, subduing the rose under an unmistakable dose of animalics, likely civet and an animalic Aoud. It doesn’t smell fecal or cheesy like some Aoud fragrances, but remains clearly and increasingly animalic until the late dry down. This one is a dance where the true nature of your partner is revealed with time.

I have an extensive collection of amazing perfumes but recently discovered Taif Aoud. I wish I had the words to describe how much I love this fragrance. It is literally relaxing and energizing at the same time and I noticed I smile all day when I wear it. Last week I bought it as part of the Aoud 10 ml collection but HAD to purchase a large bottle 5 minutes after putting it on.

1/2 of me wants to go out in public and be incredibly productive so others can enjoy how wonderful this smells, but the other 1/2 just wants to sit by the pool by myself all day drinking champagne and contemplating how wonderful life can be. If I could only wear one fragrance for the rest of my life, this would be it! ❤️❤️
